Carbon Bonded SiC Crucible

Malcolm G. Stevens, Inc supplies brand name crucibles by only the leading crucible manufacturers that have a proven reputation of quality, knowledge and the business moral to back up their products. Our crucibles have received high reputations from users around the world for their excellence in quality and high cost performance.

Sic crucibles are constructed of clay graphite and carbon-bonded silicon carbide and are available in wide variety of shapes and sizes. Glazes are available for most non-ferrous applications and in high and low temperature varieties.

Through the years and countless experiences, our crucible manufacturers have been developing melting and holding molten light alloys such as aluminum and copper with characteristics of high flux and oxidation resistance. The wide range of application, gas furnace, oil furnace, electric furnace and induction furnace of high/low frequency also enables our crucibles to meet users various operations.

Performance Specification
Isostatic pressed crucibles will reduce energy cost and extend crucible life.

Crucible Construction
All crucibles are isostatically pressed under high pressure. Many competitor crucibles are still made the old-fashioned way, by hand, with a pneumatic ram.

All crucibles are in stock. Contact Malcolm G. Stevens, Inc. today!

Application
Crucibles are available for gas-fired, electric and induction furnaces.

Sizes Available
Crucibles are available in a large variety of sizes. Base blocks (pedestals or stands) are also available. Contact your Malcolm G. Stevens, Inc. representative for the specific product and size to meet your individual need.

Crucible Comparison
Advantages of superior isostatically pressed crucibles:

    • Increased density
    • Increased strength
    • Uniform quality
    • Lower porosity with smaller pore diameter
    • Lower energy cost
    • More even heating
    • Longer life
    • Increased capacity

    Product Specifications
    SiC crucibles offer the following:

    • Uniform and consistent quality for high strength and resistance to cracking
    • Low porosity for resistance to erosion and oxidation
    • High density for better thermal conductivity and better melt times (lower energy costs)
    • Ultrasonic inspection for highest quality assurance
